  • Jennifer Brode, PTA

    Jennifer graduated in 2012 from Northern Virginia Community College with an Associate's Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Since then she has worked in both outpatient orthopedics and the inpatient hospital setting, treating a variety of patient populations and conditions including post cardiac and thoracic surgery, post op orthopedic surgeries, stroke, geriatrics, general orthopedic injuries, and competitive athletes. Through manual therapy techniques, extensive patient education, and functional therapeutic exercises, she helps patients regain function and return to peak performance in sport and daily life.
    Jennifer’s first fitness passion is body building and she enjoys spending time at the gym lifting weights. She is an outdoors lover and enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and running. She recently completed three half marathons and will run two full marathons in the coming year. She also practices yoga and loves to dance.
    Jennifer completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish at George Mason University in 2000 and studied abroad in Spain and Europe upon graduation. She speaks fluent Spanish, and has a passion for people, culture and language. She has studied French and Mandarin Chinese, and is currently dabbling in Arabic. Her other interests include music, travel, and all things related to coffee.

  • Patrick Russo, DPT

    Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Patrick graduated of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he received his doctorate degree in physical therapy. He received his bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech while working as a personal trainer. Patrick understands the importance of manual therapy combined with exercise to facilitate proper movement and is currently working towards his manual therapy certification. In his spare time, Patrick enjoys reading, learning how to make new dishes, exercising, spending time outdoors, and watching movies.

  • Tasneem A. Shaikh, DPT

    Tasneem is the clinic director of the Springfield Clinic. She attended the University of Virginia for her undergraduate studies, completed her Masters in Science and Physical Therapist degree from the Medical College of Virginia, and has been practicing in the state of Virginia since 2000. She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy two years ago from AT Still University of Health Sciences in Arizona. Tasneem initially worked in acute care, where she treated patients immediately after orthopedic, neurological and cardiac surgeries, however her passion is treating patients with orthopedic deficits. She has a strong background in manual therapy and has completed multiple continuing education courses from a nationally renowned institute, specializing in manual therapy and exercise techniques, focused on increasing range of motion, strength, stabilization, and postural control of the core, spine, and extremities. Tasneem has also been trained in treating infants with torticollis and children with mild motor deficits. She incorporates strengthening and stabilization with manual therapy to achieve a more functional and healthy lifestyle and promote overall health and wellness for our patients. Tasneem is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, and French, and she is currently studying Spanish.

  • Jin Stoothoff, PTA

    Jin Stoothoff, PTA graduated in 1998 with a bachelors in Physical Education and a Masters in Sports Diplomacy in 2001 in Korea. She then went to Japan to study Japanese and taught college level badminton. In 2004, she came to the United States. Jin decided to further her education and started the PTA program at NOVA community college in 2009. She graduated in 2011 as a PTA. She enjoys a fast-paced outpatient environment. She specializes in the low back, shoulder, and knee. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 4 year old son. Jin is fluent in Korean and Japanese. Jin is currently working in our Springfield clinic.

  • Katie Trinza, OTR/L

    Katie joined Alliance in 2017. She graduated from University of Virginia in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She then served two years of AmeriCorps before returning to school to complete a Master's program in Occupational Therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University. Among her fieldwork placements, Katie worked with a skilled occupational therapist at The VA outpatient clinic in D.C. There, Katie worked with Veterans who presented with cognitive challenges, injuries to their upper extremities, and those with adaptive equipment needs. She enjoys treating patients with all upper extremity conditions, post-op cases, and fitting patients with customized splints. She is an active member of ASHT and AOTA. In her free time, Katie likes to spend time with her family and dog, go to the movies, read, and volunteer.

  • Mary L. Woodbury, OTR/L, Certified Hand Therapist

    Mary has nearly 18 years of experience working as an Occupational / Hand Therapist. She is a 1989 graduate of University of New England. She received her Hand Therapy Certification in 2008. She is used to working in multi-disciplinary treatment team with extensive experience in the evaluation, treatment, and modalities to treat upper extremity orthopedic conditions. She easily establishes rapport with patients and staff members. Independently plans, develops, and implements comprehensive and complex treatment programs for individual patients. She is also responsible for the development and adherence to Occupational Therapy protocols.
